Ex-Sri Lankan Cricketer Nuwan Kulasekara has provided essential goods for 100 needy families, during the Sri Lankan curfew period.

Sri Lankan Government has imposed countrywide curfew due to the CoViD-19 outbreak. Some of the low-income families have been facing difficulties because of the sudden curfew.

Nuwan Kulasekara has come into the forefront in this difficult time and decided to provide essential goods for 100 needy families with the help of his school colleagues.

Ian Ward the former England Test batsman reports to Sky Sports that the England Tour of Sri Lanka could be rescheduled to January 2021.

England team has had scheduled before, on playing two test matches this month against Sri Lanka. But the tour of Sri Lanka has come to a sudden end because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Ian ward said, there could be a window to reschedule the test series to January 2021 before the England Tour of India.

“Any England tour is big for their economy because they’re so well supported. 

“They’ll be desperate that those punters that have made the trip to watch the cricket might come back.

“In terms of when that might happen, what I was told is there might be a little window at the beginning of January before England go to India,” Ward told media.

All the cricketers of the world are presently undergoing a forceful held back of playing cricket because of the Coronavirus concerns. When the fear of the virus wears off there might be too much rush to play cricket after resuming their normal life.

Former Sri Lankan left-handed batsman Kumar Sangakkara has moved into self-isolation after returning from London.

Sangakkara decided to move into self-isolation even though he is not showing any symptoms of corona infection.

“I arrived from London over a week ago and the first thing was there was a news bulletin saying that anyone who had traveled from within March 1 to 15 should register themselves with the police and undergo self-quarantine. I registered myself with the police.” Sangakkara said, addressing media.

There are several cases of returnees trying to hide from the authorities and ending up spreading the COVID-19. Kumar’s decision & also Roshan Mahanamas’ decision to isolate themselves has been praised by the people under these circumstances.

Ex-cricketer & ICC match referee Roshan Mahanama has decided to move into self-quarantine. However, this is just a precautionary move, that he is not infected by the virus.

Mahanama has been in match referee duties recently in Pakistan. Pakistan Super League has come to a sudden halt because of the COVID-19 fear.

After the postponed event, he flew back to Sri Lanka & decided on s self-quarantine.

“As soon as the PSL was called off, I left Lahore on the UL flight & I arrived safely in Colombo, a little while ago. I will isolate myself and self-quarantine at home for the next few days.”

“Please stay indoors and take all the precautionary measures. Stay safe!!!” Mahanama mentioned in his Facebook profile.

However, Englan Opening batsman Alexhales also took part in the competition. It looks like he caught the virus while playing.

SLC has decided to postpone all the domestic cricket matches because the Sri Lanka government declares island-wide curfew due to the Corona Outbreak.

This decision has been taken because an event happens during the school cricket encounter S. Thomas’ College and Royal College. it had been reported a COVID-19 Positive person has attended the seen & all those that came into contact with him are self-quarantined.

Sri Lanka domestic cricket competition was happening even the Corona outbreak. Because there’s no massive spectator gathering for Sri Lankan domestic competitions. SLC finally decided to postponed domestic competition, because there was no point in putting players & umpires in danger.

How ever, there’s no window to play domestic cricket during this weekend due to the islandwide curfew.

Majid Haq a former Pakistani descent Scotland Off-Spin Bowler tests positive for COVID-19.

He has been treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the Paisley area.

“Looking forward to potentially getting back home today after testing positive with Coronavirus. Staff at the RAH in Paisley have been good to me & thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support. Insha Allah the Panther will be back to full health soon, ” Majid Tweeted.

Haq has played 54 ODIs 24 T20Is for Scotland & retired in 2015. But he was very much active in the in-home cricket in Scotland, lately captaining Royal Excessive Corstorphine CC.

ECB suggests that leisure cricket should be suspended ever since the Coronavirus began to spread.

There were 266 COVID-19 confirmed patients in Scotland as of 9.00 am 19th Thursday.
